TLDR: My issue is that ai images are unethically made atm more than anything else.
The biggest problems I have with ai images don’t stem from the idea that “it’s not art”, I think that we can reach a point where it becomes its own art form. However, I don’t think it can be in its current form nor with how it’s currently used. It’s astounding that nobody thought for a second that they should maybe do the absolute bare minimum and ASK for permission to use someone else’s art for ai generation. That’s literally the lowest bar to meet and people aren’t meeting it.
There needs to be laws in place to prevent ai image generators from using people’s art for their generators without permission.
