Im no an artists but i will give my oppinion: The actual state of ie Ai is mainly to give cheap pictures to non artits. It is funny and can give spectacular results. But if you want some quality, you need to use many toolls: drafts as refferece images, inpainting,, controlnets, loras, post procesding... And after all this work the one out of ten of the results of the model can be transformed into art. For "nonartistical" uses it is a good tool: background images for websites, miniatures for YouTube, general images for presentations... For artist it can be a good tool. i dont recommend the use online services. A pc powerefull enough to run games AAA games 2022, could be enough. I have ided easdy difgusion and Krita for some images for personal use. Here are some uses : - electro-brainstroming: if you are not sure how you want to show someting, you can ask for different imagew while you draw a fist draft. If you are sill not happy wittg you work you can use those images. - addressing some backboung foregrounds problems. Some artist at te begining have probrems dawing a good backgroun to their images, other have more problem with the "actors" in their pictires. Ai can give you a hand on that. - Give live to old drafts. With a lora trained with your oun art, yoy can ask t the Ai to complete the work And then generate a bunch of similar images. Building the Lora requie a more powerfull computer. - Faster brainstorming with clients: some people is not goog expressing what they want. if a client that wanted someting in particular is not happy with the results or is not good expresding what he want, you can use your locally trained Lora can generate several images then present them to te client, chose one and make art with he concepts of that image as reference. I think it will became another form of expression as the photographs or the 3d art. Not preplacing replacing but coexsisting
