Is not the conversation about consciousness religious? To assume consciousness in others, is this philosophical conversation not a religious quest?
AI is rapid probabilistic problem solving from large datasets. Neil, I understand you believe in alien life. Is it not completely conceivable that these probabilistic problem solving practices have not already been developed in the universe? If so, could AI been a 150 year takeover of earth? Just kidding, partially. My real question is, is it not conceivable that these systems are not already woven into the fabric of the universe? A basic structure of life essentially. Meaning Genie 3 is a digital representation of the structure of reality. In this since, what would this mean about science? Community? Earth?
