Is AI adequate to replace programmers? No. Will companies still use it to replace programmers? Absolutely. Look at the state of game development in the last few years. AAA studios releasing clunky, unfinished garbage, so they can sell DLC and micro-transactions while they try to finish development over the course of months/years. They don't care that it sucks.
