For anyone wondering why Miyazaki said "creepy" it would be most helpful to look at the video clip itself. From what I remember, the youngsters created some sort of program that made a weird looking crawling human-like thing for a zombie/disease related film idea and decided to show it to Miyazaki. It really is creepy and I think that is what he was referring to specifically when he said "creepy," not AI itself. I feel like this context is important.
Additionally, I can't find a clip of Miyazaki actually being disapproving of AI. Just a clip of him saying he's worried the end of the world is near and English voice-overs saying he was referring to AI.
I wish I had access to the full clip or to a Japanese narration of the context. Otherwise, I fear the addition of this clip is misleading.
