Eventually the gov will have to regulate this stuff, they need taxed salaries to fund social security and we're not keeping our fertility rate up, so that's already an issue. The more people left without a job because of automation or AI the less social security is funded, not to mention all the new social program enrollments due to unemployment. Unless gov enacts some kind of tax penalty on companies that use it I don't see how the model could be sustainable without just outright dystopian culling of The Olds like in that short in Ten Years Japan.
