Oh my god, this is the most infuriating thing about AI advocates. WE WERE NOT FUCKING BORN WITH SPECIAL TALENTS!!! Every single one of us had to LEARN and GROW and PRACTICE for literally YEARS. These people think we came out the womb holding a pencil. No. WE WORKED OUR ASSES OFF. WE STILL DO. It's just a lazy excuse to say they don't want to put in the effort to learn and would rather have immediate results than tackle the often frustrating, but EXTREMELY rewarding skill of making art. They have no excuses. If they say they're not a creative person, why do they want to create? There are artists with aphantasia, so it can't be an issue of not being able to create an image in your head (I've heard it makes the process a lot harder, but you can still work through it). There are even artists with physical disabilities that you would think would stop them from doing art. The most infuriating thing is that these people try to invalidate our artistic journey and say we're just naturally gifted, which is the dumbest possible way to look at it. NOBODY is a "natural artist." Creativity comes naturally, to some, but we still have to build up the skills to pursue that creativity in any way other than ideas in our heads. It's just so frustrating being told you're just born to do it when we made the CONSCIOUS DECISION to pursue this and keep practicing and slowly, getting better at it, rather than whatever "natural gift" they seem to think we have. Artists aren't some mythical creature. Michaelangelo didn't just slip and accidentally paint the Sistine Chapel. That was AGES of work. He wasn't gifted, he was SKILLED. "Gifted" is something parents tell their kids to give them a complex. It doesn't actually exist.
