Artist here. I can say honestly that I think AI art is garbage. I can sometimes see which prominent artist the model was trained on. The result? Art that looks similar to the stolen art… But, somehow worse. It’s soulless. It’s lifeless. It’s stale. AI art merely takes a fist full of training images, and shoves them into a sausage maker and calls the result “art.” It adds nothing new to the mix, which to me is boring.
