The key to giving people UBI without demoralizing them is to have them earn it or otherwise deserve it.
Start by investing Social Security into a diversified and hedged market fund so it consistently earns more than Treasury notes alone typically pay.
Give people the option at any time to tap an income stream based on the investment returns on what they've paid in over the years, but not touch the 'principle'.
If they don't tap an income, their share of principle increases with the investment returns as well as any payroll withholding, allowing them a larger income later.
And then require that the Fed allow Ai productivity to deflate prices, rather than letting the government (and the Fed banks) skim that off through continuous inflation.
Everyone who won't be able to get a job deserves to benefit from that deflation.
(And yes, I realize this isn't a solution for everyone - it's a partial solution based on changes we should be able to make.)
