What's going to happen after every single job has been automated by AI? Here' is my belief, and it's just pure speculation, but it seems the most probable.
The global elite could cull humanity to near-extinction (with the exception of themselves) so that they can emerge from their luxury bunkers after whatever global cataclysm they
deliberately caused and have all of the world's land and resources entirely to themselves!
I'm guessing probably some kind of bioweapon release blamed on a natural mutation of existing viruses like an airborne strain hemorrhagic fever or an ultra-virulent and hypertransmissable strain of bird flu with a near-100% case fatality rate
Think the "captain trips" super-plague from Stephen King's novel The Stand.
