Don't worry. "AI" is massively overhyped. The problem of "hallucenation" isn't something that can be patched out: it's endemic to the way these models work on a fundamental level. And "fact-checking" also isn't a thing because humans disagree about what's true and false and there is no such thing as a neutral, unbiased authority worthy of unconditional trust we can use as a final source of truth and get anything coherent.
