I dont think anyone hates AI, people hate the negligence that has been this current bubble, I've followed AI progress for decades. Sorry, but I dont view the current GenAI as a net bonus to humanity, im 10% more productive programming, but now perverts can easily create CP with your kids pictures, scam your grandma, trick your job into thinking you said something you didnt, and to top it all off, its hemorrhaging energy and water. LLM's are a waste of time IMO, and will never lead to unlocking true intelligence. NLP and statistical machines cant have a world model.
