I'm a software developer who has been excited about self driving cars for at least a decade. I was always been critical about some companies like Uber and Tesla, but thought with the right approach it would be a great thing.
Your research and presentation are excellent: it now seems obvious to me there's little to be excited about.
One angle that's interesting is the individualistic culture of the US. In that sense exporting self driving cars is also exporting culture, chipping away at communal values found more often abroad. It's not that one is always better then the other, but I'd say US individualism frequently leans toward unhealthy isolation.
