It’s not AI, it’s offshoring, nearshoring, and importation of labor. As a software engineer most people I work with don’t live in or pay taxes to the nation that my employer belongs to. My employer gets tax benefits from importing H1Bs, offshoring and near shoring too since they can just pay less. H1Bs are perfect indentured servants as they will take lower pay and employers wave deportation in front of them if they want to quit. We need economic protections for labor, the capitalists class should no longer be allowed to overrun our labor market and sell it off to lowest bidder, it’s a race to the bottom.
