In general, I have nothing against machines taking over repetitive and/or dangerous tasks in particular.
But you need a plan B for all workers whose jobs are lost.
Be it retraining, basic income financed from taxes for profits generated by machines, etc.
Even if such proposals are often and quickly declared to be nonsense.
But you have to think about such things and, in my opinion, that's exactly what isn't happening enough at the moment. Progress cannot be stopped. Only if the population rejects it and demonises it across the board and doesn't take over the design will the field be left to the managers who, as always, only have their own profits in focus.
And then we may also get automation in areas where it can never replace people 100% and then we will have to live with new risks and poorer quality.
