I ranted to my mom, a literal boomer, not an artist, about AI generated art and how it's affecting all artists--professionals, hobbyists, and in-between. She's also aware that art is one of my passions, yet her response was something like:
"Then why don't you just focus on doing AI art instead? Technology is advancing and there's nothing we can do about it. Take advantage of what's current."
While I get where she's coming from; she's not an artist and she's seen a number of technologies/fields go obsolete throughout her life, I felt so invalidated for feeling the way I do.
