i'm glad you used shitposting as an example, because the language of memes perfectly illustrates the point. If an AI image generator spits out a bad mangled copy of a picture, it just did it's job wrong. But if someone went into MS Paint and drew shitty stick figures and then grabbed some headshots off google and stuck it onto said stick figures, it's automatically immediately hilarious, simply because you the viewer are now aware that the meme is a message and is part of a larger conversation, purely because somebody took the effort to draw their shitty art and find faceclaims for them all art is like this, even if you don't sit down to communicate anything when you're making art, you're still a part of that larger conversation purely because you sat down to take the effort to make art. You can tell when an artist likes light, or form, or color. Who's into what kind of linework or textures, who loves pretty femboys with tiny waists or goth mommies with thicc thighs.
