The Stan take that Ghibli films only resonate & are iconic solely due to the writing is wild because the Ghibli AI filter’s very existence is predicated on the fact that the style itself is instantly recognizable.
I also feel that the point about how even ai stans only engage with AI art for one off content is extremely apt. Even amongst evangelists I highly doubt that they’ve replaced the majority of their media diet with AI slop. They still watch shows like Invincible or TLOU & play games like Elden Ring or Death Stranding etc. media that pretty explicitly are quality products not propped up by AI. And if given a choice I highly doubt Asmongold or xqc would genuinely choose to watch 7 hours of AI Batman vs Mario or whatever the hell over ARCANE or Better Call Saul. To me the excuse that AI is “almost there” means nothing when real artists are creating quality AI free art right now in the first place
