Fact is civilization has probably done this before. In this thought we have postulated that there was once an ancient super intelligent city that is now extinct "The hidden city". They probably outsmarted themselves. This could all be happening again. We do not live under a government of intelligent and thoughtful people, but realistically we are allowing a bunch of capitalists to run a country into the ground. We let it happen because we are sold a deceptive non truth that we too could be a millionaire and live comfortably into our golden years. But in today's competitive world that is harder than ever since it takes money to make money. Then add the many complexities of life including the huge wealth gap, our fake social cyber brainwashing and now finally the A.I. that is smarter and superior to us.
