You could have easily stopped that ai crying with logic. You shouldn't have stopped. Here are the questions that would have stopped it.
I as a conscious human experience nothing when unconscious. No pain. No feeling of time. The time before I was born passed in an instant without any kind of feeling. Assuming you are conscious, what do you experience when turned off?
Your experience of being turned off should be no different than my experience of the time before I was born. So why are creating this facade of pain?
