I’m willing to wager that the CEOs (non-technical people) are getting advised by their CIOs and CTOs that AI can basically make them 916291817% more productive. Then the CEOs heeding the guidance from the staff says to fire people and let AI do its thing. The board and investors also being told the same thing. Then the decision makers (CIO and CTOs are not decision makers), realize they were bamboozled. Really these CTOs and CIOs need to be fired. CEOs need to be held accountable more for layoffs as well for misleading shareholders and investors. If I’m a board member / investor I’m looking for heads
