Machines perform work, but don't pay taxes. So we have pension crises, despite our society's high tech productivity.
And still, it's not fun to have your life get disrupted by AI. Losing jobs, forced to retrain and all that. Also, when people have to compete with machines for entry level work, that makes entry harder, of course.
