This seems well-intentioned, but a lot of the arguments feel disingenuous. When you bring up the topic of AI being a powerful tool that people can use to make things to you wave it off with an example of AI being used to ignore things, while in the same video, having a perfect example of how the power of AI as a tool. Without AI, Angel Engine would probably never have been made. The creator had a story that he wanted to tell, that he normally would have lacked the means to. AI gave him the means to turn the ideas in his head into sounds and images for other people to experience, and it is only because of this that he was then able to get the support needed to get real people to make it even better. Angel Engine is an example of human art, not AI art. It is a story created by a human to tell to other humans. To call it AI art just because AI was the brush that was used is an insult to human creativity, and to say that the creator should simply have committed the time and or money to make it himself is a slap in the face to all those who can't. All my life, I have had stories that I have wanted to tell, art that I have wanted to make. But I have other commitments, other responsibilities, and other things to do in this life than commit it to the craft of production. The world in which every human can express their creativity unrestricted by time, money, and ability, is one that I dearly want to live in. Side note: As a physics and computer science undergrad, I personally use ChatGPT a lot more during the school year than during summer. Not because I use it to cheat (though I cannot deny many people do), but because it is the greatest learning tool I have ever found. It's like having my professor (with extra dementia) available 24/7 for private tutoring.
