No company has ever been able to effectively document in a clear, consistent agreeable or keep up to date the processes of their inner workings ever. It requires a lot of question asking, a bunch of tribal knowledge and the ability to read how intelligent the person you're speaking to is based on the information given so you know which information is relevant to architecting your solution.
Anyone can learn how to code with some Adderall and a pluralsight subscription, learning how to understand a complex business and make your shit work for it in a secure, scalable, reliable way is what software engineering is about. That takes the human touch and always will because the fact is the data you can feed a robot is never getting better - people are simply too imperfect, businesses are too chaotic.
But that won't stop CEOs drinking from that big udder in the centre of the sales bull now will it?
