My opinion/quick rant: It is COMPLETELY different when artists take inspiration than when AI copies. The AI has been proven to just steal the exact artwork without making any changes. Literally copy-paste. AI cannot, *cannot*, have it's own art style. It isnt self aware, or creative. It's a logical machine and cant develop it's own opinions, which means it cant develop its own art style either. When artists use inspiration and references, it's to learn. It helps them learn about different lighting, composition, styles, mediums, etc. And helps them determine their own style by picking out aspects they like and incorporating them into their own art, and practicing them enough until it becomes unique to them. Get what I'm saying? And sure, there are humans too that straight up steal and try to pass it as their own, and that is unacceptable as well. Another thing, is that art is used as an expression of emotion. It's a form of catharsis and an outlet for artists feelings. It's a way they can turn their hardship, or even the opposite, feelings of love and happiness, into a visual representation for others to admire, understand, and relate to. What feelings do AI have? What hardship have they experienced? What do they love? How can they Express emotion, if they dont have any. They are *literally* incapable of feeling. That concludes my rant. Thank you for reading.
