The world in which we live is at a tipping point on climate, humanity and equality, peace and productivity and political stability. On one hand the best advice that we can take is to ground ourselves in nature and meditate on the meaning of life. Yet we are Grinding ourselves to dust in the cogs of global economies and losing the connectivity and closeness that make us feel spiritually bound to our fellow man and to the planet on which we live. We seem to have leaders the pride themselves on their creativity in spite of the fact that what they make leads us further away from ourselves. I won’t live long enough to witness Superintelligence in AI and in many ways I’m thankful for that but my children will and the landscape isn’t looking great. I think my biggest fear is wealth disparity and AI just another tool to make the rich richer and the poor more vulnerable. I don’t know what the goal of the super rich is but I don’t imagine there’s going to be much there for them either.
