*My beliefs about A.I usage are...* *A.I uses I am on the fence with:* • It should only be for personal fun at _most,_ and _with disclosure that it IS made by generativr A.I, or gen-A.I for short. Even then, that falls in a grey area for me. • Deepfake memes are also in a grey area for me... While the intent is probably non-malicious, there is the whole issue of non-consensual A.I replication of identity, such as faces or voices. *A.I uses I am against:* • Claiming A.I-generated content as organic is plagiarism, as, with how the A.I is often developed, you are claiming _multiple_ other sources as your own, and even then, you are technically not the original creator. • Adding further credence to my previous point, trying to use gen-A.I to complete school work involving creations without getting caught is often considered plagiarism by the guidelines. • Gen-A.I can also be used for hoaxes and/or scamming, which will be a problem for the public. *A.I uses I am in favor of:* • A.I used for Q.O.L, however, is fine, such as A.I summarizers (with citations), A.I used to organize, for example, library books on a bookshelf, or A.I in search engines. (Even generative here, ONLY FOR Q.O.L, such as the first case.) Non-generative A.I especially even has actually beneficial uses, such as cancer detection or content moderation. • Further adding to my point above, non-generative A.I is definitely fine to continue in my eyes, as it can't take away hobby-turned-dream-jobs as easily as gen-A.I, and has far more potential for Q.O.L. As exemplified by the uses mentioned above as well, non-generative A.I has far more ethical, and even benevolent, potential for uses.
