AI isn't going to mess up humanity, humans are going to do that. Humans have been given endless power to mess up humanity, and humans have done an incredible job of that. Accidentally, not all of the creativity has been squashed, so it got to exist in the margins. The portions that thrived in that environment were taken by big money, and humans continued to do an incredible job of crushing humanity. "Oh no, AI!" nah, "oh no, humans!"
