Nope. Art wasn't the first to struggle against AI. Translations were. I have over 18 years of experience as English translator, worked of literary works, poetry, academic essays, science papers and most of my clients switched to AI somewhere around 2021, despite quality being much, much worse. But it was fast and cheap.
I worked manual labor for a while, and I finally decided to... join the enemy side. I have trained myself as an AI operator, as most people have little idea how to efficiently use LLMs, image/video/voice generators, and so on (hence the abundance of slop). I do some contract work in media and ads, I provide training for companies, and all that other soulless bullshit. Literary translations were my passion, yet here I am.
Though, I'm an inch away from buying a blackpowder shotgun and moving to the countryside to raise rabbits and chickens, make moonshine, do some woodworking, and not give a single f.
