Im going to say the most unpopular, hotpick or controvertial thing ever regarding this topic... Ai art its not a bad thing... Ok, before you people burn me like a witch on a stake, hear me out. The reason i think Ai art is not a bad thing, its because for people like me, i spend a whole year trying to get good at drawing because i saw what my brother was able to do and it was incredible what he could draw on his highschool days. Spoiler alert but i didnt improved much, the best i could do looked like made with mouse on Paint and no better than what a 3 year old could make. I got good with painting, shadows and that stuff, but making the rest of the drawing, never. So for me, Ai gives me access to a tool that can help me bring something to the real world or at least create a visual representation of an idea. Because commision art from an artist is expensive and its fun to see what the Ai tool will generate. But even if i went to Twitter and posted pictures, i would never claim im an artist. Because all im doing is telling the Ai more or less what i want, the Ai will only be as good as the Best Artist on the internet and even then, it has flaws. But the reason i would not claim im an artist is because... The only difference between commisioning art and using Ai is that on one, you are asking a human being to make you a drawing and on the other one is a machine, a computer program. But for me is just a tool to play and have fun, it will never replace real artist because from the start as mentioned before, without them the machine would not be as good as it is today. It will never be original, it can only learn from others and replicate those others' styles. Without Akira Toriyama we wouldnt have thr DBZ style, one that everyone can recognize and say "that looks from Dragon Ball" and Ai would never invent it. Ai for me its like a mining tool and im out there looking for something and only a real artist can take out the diamond withing the stone i found. Sadly i think the person that the video was based on is only coping because if they were really as good in all forms of arts as they said they were. Their entire online persona wouldnt be based on posting Ai generated stuff, stuff he can only get through Ai because of the artist the program trained with. They would be out there making real original stuff and not defending Ai like it was the ultimate art form. Maybe they are good but what they made was just the same slop they were talking about when blowing up Ai and praising it as the best thing ever. Again, the only reason i think Ai its not a bad thing, its because it allows and gives access to a tool that can bring ideas to existence but will never replace real artist, human artist.
