Yes, there are a LOT of similarities in how AI produces images based on what its been exposed to and how an Artist take inspiration on their own experiences. Thats partly why AI is such a fascinating technology, its behaving in ways that in a lot of cases are very similar to how a human would do these things. AI models can even develop their own quirks, not dissimilar to how an Artist develops their own styles, and will regularly make the same mistakes in image generation like how an Artist might struggle with hand placements. But AI doesn't understand the art its making. It doesn't understand why it gave Santa 2 extra fingers or why a button is placed where it is in a composition. It just DOES. And because it doesn't understand, it won't improve in meaningful ways. AI art can't take a nap, eat lunch, and flip the canvas to notice that the hand placement on a staff is awkward and the eyes on the witch are poorly aligned. AND, if you were to do it FOR AI, and have the model try to fix the image after the fact, it will most likely just destroy the original piece and redo the prompt over the flipped canvas. Don't get me wrong, I love the TECHNOLOGY. What it can represent, what good its doing in some fields (particularly medicine) is amazing. I also think its really fun to mess around with, using Suno to make just... cursed, music and using AI to explore art that's difficult to come across is a good time. And, as a tool in an artisans kit, AI is deeply fascinating and incredibly useful when utilized by PEOPLE who can do the things AI can't. But it can't replace people. People are flexible, and can change their minds and look at things with new and fresh perspectives. AI cant do these things. Until AI develops sentience, and can understand WHY, and not just HOW, art is made, people will always be better. And even then, methinks it will just be the same, not better.
