The bottom line is that on its own, code agents write sh t code. The devil is in what "AI written code" means. If I ask the AI to log the status variable at line 50 of file X.ts it will almost certainly do an adequate job and in some sense the AI "wrote the code". However, if I give the AI a requirements document plus notes from meeting with the PM and users and let it churn, the result will likely not even be functional and the code will an absolute mess.
