We used to properly keep Machine Learning (ML) separate from AI. Using the old definitions, ChatGPT is not AI, it is ML. Nothing available to consumers is AI any more than speed-adaptive cruise control is AI. It just isn't. Everything the public is using is ML and expert systems.
