ChatGPT seems to have hit a wall in terms of meaningful advancement, thus falling off of the supposedly exponential curve towards superintelligence. To me that suggests that low hanging fruit of LLM has been mostly used up, and the next stage--AGI-- is orders of magnitude more difficult. It took around 3 billion years to leap from single cell life to complex life. The road to AGI or superintelligence or whatever term the tech bros want to call it may have hit a similar roadblock.
