I think you are pretty spot on with your assumption Rhett. Youtube videos need a lot of storage and that becomes increasingly more expensive and harder to sustain with energy supply stagnating in the US due to AI megafactories taking a massive hit on energy consumtion. That's why I think they use AI upscalers to reduce storage usage. In gaming AI Upscalers like DLSS are already your daily bread and butter. I think though as Youtube didn't really get the right method working right now.
