This could be the best interview on the topic of AI that i've watched. Dispassionate, clear and informative from someone that understands the market and products available without being invested into it. I hope she is correct about the likely end point not being AGI. You don't often hear people taking this position in podcast-land. And yep, the idea of the quiet take over of democracy makes sense. The example of Larry Ellision comes to mind, he and Tony Balir are trying to get ID cards made mandatory. You can bet that he will mine the UK for money when/if he gets to do ID cards, he will create his monopoly and make it virtually impossible for another company to take over the contract with the Gov to manage the data. The result, he will be able to charge what he likes for it at renewal. Subscription based destruction of the UK economy, which the tax payer will foot the bill for never having voted for it. The same will happen with NHS data if they hand it over to big tech.
