I dont understand why they are so obsessed with making "AI" that replaces human interaction and creativity. there are so many better uses that arent "generating" things from basic prompts and stolen data. (AI in quotes because AI really is a buzzword here). entertainingly most of the good uses don't even need to take away human roles, just make things easier for the people in those roles (like many machines and programs have done in the past). There are algorithms to recognise images, which admittedly has some negative uses, but can be used to recognise cancer. There are systems to transcribe audio, which can be used along side (not in lieu of, its not that good) human transcribers to make things more accessible to more people. The same with translation (again, you've seen google translate and its like, its not as good as using a real human translator who can discern slang and context easier) I am having trouble thinking of more uses off the top of my head, but there are more out there. and most of them don't mean taking away the life from life. why is it that corporations and the AI supporters focus on these few unethical and unprofitable usecases? the usecases that most people don't want and most people will only briefly mess around with to see how bad it is.
