Everybody forgets the key word in AI ... "artificial". These are artificial intelligences, and they are powered by nothing more than a pile of flip-flops. But I really like Geoffrey Hinton's thought experiment. We are not only getting closer to understanding what "intelligence" is, but IMO we need to ask ourselves if the human "soul" exists, and if it does, how much does our soul play a role in our sentient existence?
