A comment about the question of "HOW will AI do this or that," as asked of Neil here. Well... I've heard this too myself. What makes me wonder is not that people are interested, no, I'm glad they are, it's why they think that if they heard the answer explained to them that they would actually understand it. 😉 That's the disfunction we face today between what scientists do and what mainstream America understands. A hundred years ago anyone attending say the World Fair could see, hear, and experience all the wonderful new scientific breakthroughs. They marveled over the aeroplane, the automobile, and even flush toilets. But today, these same people wanting to know HOW would need multiple doctorate degrees to understand many of the brilliant new discoveries. Get use to it. 😉
