Here's what escapes most people. Art is valuable because it is relatively scarce and hard to come by a good artist.
AI Art is pretty much worthless because it can be plentiful. It is also prone to a lot of errors and while it is getting better these errors still make it less valuable because it shows a lack of skill needed.
In the end it will be like iPods back in the day, to be competitive the people selling AI art will have to drop their price point lower and lower until it is completely unfeasible simply because everyone can do it without skill.
Scarcity creates value, quality also creates value, combine the two and you get Picasso or Rembrandt or whomever.
