Great, Yoshua Bengio, the guy who promoted rapid AI development without adequately confronting its societal and structural harms, especially around surveillance, labor displacement, and algorithmic discrimination. This is not his pivot towards "AI ethics and existential risk". It's beyond too little, too late, with his focus on speculative future harms while sidestepping accountability for the real-world impacts already enabled by the tech he helped commercialize. This is so gross.
