At the end of the day, art is an expression of creation. That is the point of art. So to try and remove those aspects from it kills it. Getting a computer to generate images is not the same. It very much feels like capitalists trying to get out of paying people for their art. But they have to try to sell us our creative destruction somehow. Because how can we spend all our time making money for the billionaires if we waste it on things like art? So they are trying to tell us that this is good for us. That it makes things easier when we don’t have to think or feel or create or question. Because humans are easier to control when they are sad and docile and afraid. It’s a one-two combo of crushing our spirits AND squeezing us for more money so they can avoid paying artists. Generative AI is bullshit and I can’t wait for the day when the investors realise it’s full of shit and the whole thing collapses just like with NFTs.
