3:30 that's so important to understand: YES, AI is a fantastic technology, which has amazing use-cases, that are ethically flawless, and I would even say justify the unwanted use of existing, human made stuff. To a degree. For example when it comes to accessibility, it's just super helpful, when you have natural sounding text-to-speech, or automated captions that are actually accurate, when an AI is able to take a text, that's very difficult to understand, and translate it into easy language, etc. And there are also great use-cases for AI and images, like identifying patterns, spotting irregularities, visualizing simulations, or turn 2D images into 3D objects. But the generative AI that is supposed to replicate art is such an incredible waste of resources, because there's no actual value being created. While it's fun to see how Son Goku would look if he was painted by Van Gogh, it's not worth wasting tons of electricity and water, and also not worth ripping off actual artists. And imho it's doomed to fail.
