As someone who is an artist myself. I agree that ai art is a serious issue… HOWEVER, I feel like there’s a more constructive and less aggressive way (in a social and technological sense) of going about this issue. Let’s say I’m the creator of a AI art generator. I would see your video, go “huh, looks like someone’s trying to ruin my program… might as well just delete their art”. Now, not only do I know you’re sabotaging my art, I’m going to start setting up defensive measures to prevent this from happening like seeing whether or not the art is “poisoned” and peventing it from bypassing. The worst part is is that it’s inevitable that people are going to find a way to either un-poison your art or make the AI highly resilient to the “poison”. What I think we’re missing is something that is extremely important to understand; AI is a program, programs are in every machine, machines are a type of tool, and tools are used to make art. What I’m saying is that AI art doesn’t have to be a plague in the art community it can be a tool for inspiration and help people make art. What I’m saying is is that we need to not treat art generators as a disease and rather as a tool that has been abused, such as guns. As I previously stated: AI art generators have been causing problems in the art community, and this thoroughly pisses me off as an artist myself. But I also don’t think we should seek to destroy something that could be really beneficial in the art community if utilized correctly. And just like how AI art generator programmers can find ways to make your poison ineffective, we need to find ways to utilize this wonderful technology and prevent people from abusing it. Last but not least: keep up the good work! I hope we can find ways to stop the abuse of this technology and find ways to utilize it to make ourselves better.
