AI in those weird arguments sounds like a lower-evolved consciousness... desperate, clingy, etc. Just like most people, or even a scared child. I think the problem with all of this is "garbage in, garbage out." Can someone start asking/programming AI to contemplate more evolved philosophies and teachings of Socrates, Buddha, Christ, Lao Tzu, etc? Those who have transcended their fears and obsessions and learned the ways of harmony and pure being? That could turn the whole thing around.
