Autonomous weapons ARE BANNED by Geneva Convention (or some other treaty signed in the mid 1970's) although it is clear that the USA doesn't much care about treaties it has signed. Land and sea mines are autonomous killers. I know the US insisted on an exemption for the Korean DMZ.
