What I find incredible too is just the intense power AI wields because of media. I'm watching this podcast in the interest of finding out information... but also thinking, if AI wanted to make me feel like it was all powerful and I could do nothing to stop it, and should just accept it taking over our roles... honestly, this would be the perfect video wouldn't it? Even gave me a few products to buy that it potentially has produced. Honestly though. How do we know any of these people in the videos we see are real? I'm not speaking from complete paranoia, just speculating that we've never met these people, just know them as a name on a screen as a supposed expert in a field speaking to other supposed experts. But really how hard is it for AI to generate this scenario and feed it to us over media. Not hard at all... Lastly, the idea of main character and npc in the simulated model I think is flawed. That's a human concept in a relativity viewpoint of powerful people being used to being in a spotlight. If we're in a simulation, then the only reason that we're likely there is to be kept pacified so that the higher power (AI/ superintelligence/ aliens/ organism) can use us for its other purposes. We're not a character in its show unless it's chosen us specifically for the purposes of being in a show, but that's a very narrow bet to make
