Like a T-Rex with tunnel vision who invents mega length pruning shears to trim his toenails. By the time he's proved empirically beyond doubt that this is a bad idea, he's removed all his toes. By the time the scientific community believes his explanation for Toe Loss Syndrome in Otherwise Healthy Dinosaurs, T-Rex is on the brink of extinction having all individually, systematically and habitually amputated their own toes. No one is perfect, and all humans are frail. Why create something stronger, faster, with replaceable parts and all the compassion and understanding of a psychopath?
