None of this seems right to me. LLMs are pattern recognition machines, biological brains are pattern extrapolation machines. LLMs can't break free of what they've seen before. There's no magic here. In the video, they use humor as an example. Jokes aren't magic, you can diagram any joke and explain it/break it into a pattern. That's how comedians write jokes! This is Sci Fi brain influencing your perception of reality. I maintain that we all grew up on Sci Fi AIs that are smart but talk like robots. Now our first step towards AI is making them sound like humans and we assume they are also smart like in Sci Fi. There's some other stuff in here. We've got reinforcement learning models that can beat us at chess and do math but those models are limited.
