I also disagree with the premise at the end that robots are “racist” or “sexist.” An AI is only as good as its training data, and training data can be changed. The point is to think mindfully about how we train them moving forward. We HAVE to make that a priority. Just because the current sets of training data contain biases does not mean that future sets of training data will. And making overarching ethical decisions about future AI based on present biases in the current training data is misplaced.
